In February 2013, Microsoft released the first public version of Blink, a photo app for Windows Phone 8 that let users pick their favorite image from a burst of shots. Now the company has released a new update for Blink that includes a revamp of its user interface.
As revealed in the Windows Phone Store, the new 2.4 version of Blink not only has a new UI, but now includes a way to quickly switch between the app"s two main modes. One is Still mode, which saves a user"s favorite shot of a subject and the other is Blink mode, which takes that series of images and edits them into an animated GIF file.
In addition, the new Blink update has Focus Lock, which allows someone to lock in a region of the image so it always remains in focus, even with phone movements. There"s also a way to pin Blink files onto a Windows Phone live tile. Microsoft says there"s been some video stabilization improvements put into this Blink update. Finally, there"s a built in tutorial that quickly gets Windows Phone owners up to speed on how to use the app.
