Last week, Microsoft released its new Special Edition NFL Type Covers for the Surface Pro 3 and 4, priced at $159.99, featuring full-color designs for each of the 32 teams in America"s National Football League.
Building further on its NFL partnership, Microsoft today unveiled 32 new designs for its recently launched Xbox One S - but while the console is now on sale, you won"t be able to buy one of these football-themed versions.
Like the new Type Covers, there"s a design for each NFL team; but unlike the keyboards, Microsoft has only created these to promote the launch of its new Xbox One S Madden NFL 17 Custom Console Sweepstakes. The only way you might get your hands on one of them is to enter the sweepstakes, to be in with a chance of winning one.
There are three ways to enter:
- Head to www.xboxpromotions.com/MaddenNFL17 and vote for your favorite console
- Click to enter through your Xbox 360 or Xbox One dashboard
- Follow @Xbox and RT the Madden NFL 17 #XboxSweepstakes Tweets
Along with the 32 grand prize winners, who will get a custom NFL Xbox One S, there will also be 10 runners-up, who will win a "regular" Xbox One S Madden NFL 17 Bundle, which is now available to pre-order for $349. You can find out more about the sweepstakes here, including a closer look at the designs for each of the NFL teams.
Given that Microsoft already offers fully customizable controllers, these new console designs may well leave some Xbox fans wondering if similar customizations might be offered on the Xbox One S at some point in the future.
Perhaps that option will arrive at the same time as the new Xbox Onesie.
