Microsoft rolls out firmware and driver updates to the Surface Studio

Microsoft is expected to unveil refreshes for some of its Surface devices later today at an event in New York, with black reportedly making a return as a color option. But before the new products get all the attention, the company is rolling out a few updates to the Surface Studio, as spotted by MSPU.

These updates mostly focus on reliability and stability improvements, specifically for the Xbox Wireless Adapter, which lets users connect up to eight Xbox controllers to the computer. Another notable update relates to the Surface Pen, which will see an adjusted threshold for inking by hovering over the screen. Here"s the full list of updates for Microsoft"s all-in-one:

Microsoft does a pretty decent job of supporting its Surface devices, with the original Surface Book also receiving a massive list of changes back in August. The changelog for the Studio isn"t quite as long, but that"s not too bad seeing as the device is two years old. It should be noted that you"ll need to be running Windows 10 version 1709 for these updates to show up.

With the Surface Studio starting to show its age, it"s among the devices which seem most likely to be refreshed at today"s Surface event, which takes place in just a few hours. Stay tuned to Neowin to learn more about Microsoft"s announcements as they come.
