After releasing new firmware for its Surface Pro 3 last week, Microsoft is now rolling out a firmware update for the most affordable Windows 10 tablet in its range, the Surface 3.
Owners of the device should see it listed on Windows Update as "System Firmware Update - 8/8/2016". Unfortunately, yet again, the company has decided to push out its latest update with no timely effort to inform users of what it contains.
Microsoft has offered a Surface Update History section on its site for some time now, but it has consistently failed to provide information on its Surface updates until long after they"re released. Availability of the latest update was spotted by Paul Thurrott, who noted that Microsoft also regularly publishes Windows 10 updates without offering any immediate indication of what changes they will bring.
Details of each Surface update are typically published on the company"s site 24-48 hours after they begin rolling out, and it"s still unclear why Microsoft appears incapable of providing these details at the same time that its updates are made available.
