Microsoft has released version 16.0.6925.1016 of Office for Android. The news comes three weeks after the firm released a similar build - version 16.0.6925.1002 - to the Office Insider Program, which contained many of the same features.
Here"s what"s new:
Word
- You"re the expert with Tell Me: Save time and focus on your work by finding the right command when you need it
- Merge and split cells: Merge cells to make a heading span across columns, or split cells to show the right level of detail
Excel
- Better Autocomplete: Just start typing, and Excel will do a better job of finishing the text for you
- Group and Outlines: Get to the right level of detail. Now you can expand or collapse grouped rows and columns
- You"re the expert with Tell Me: Save time and focus on your work by finding the right command when you need it
PowerPoint
- You"re the expert with Tell Me: Save time and focus on your work by finding the right command when you need it
The main similarities between the change-logs of this version and the Insider Preview from three weeks ago are the "Tell Me" and the "Merge and split cells" features. Missing from the release notes is a "Reply with edited document" feature, which was found in the Insider Preview change-log.
If the new features aren"t enough for you, you can always sign up for the Office for Android Insider Program, assuming that you have an Android 4.4 or better device with at least 1 GB RAM. You can do that over in the Google+ community.
