Microsoft searches for Ms. M.o.X.i.e.

Microsoft Macintosh Business Unit (MacBU) on Tuesday announced the Search for Ms. M.o.X.i.e. (Microsoft Office v. X Integrated Experience) contest. The MacBU is looking for the most "nimble, determined, Mac-wielding businesswoman around to take the crown of Ms. M.o.X.i.e.

"Why women? It"s a growing trend. We found that according to the U.S. Small Business Administration"s Office of Women"s Business Ownership that women are starting businesses at twice the rate of men and we want to recognize these women for their success," Roz Ho, product unit manager for the Macintosh Business Unit at Microsoft, told MacCentral.

The woman crowned as Ms. M.o.X.i.e. will receive US$10,000 in cash and a new iMac; semifinalists will receive a copy of Microsoft Office v. X. To qualify, contestants must have used a version of Microsoft Office for the Mac on or before Oct. 7, 2002.

To participate in the Microsoft Office v. X Search for Ms. M.o.X.i.e. contest, contestants are required to submit a brief essay between Oct. 8 and Nov. 4, 2002, nominating themselves or a businesswoman they admire, explaining how she"s creatively staying ahead of the business curve and why she deserves to don the title of Ms. M.o.X.i.e.
