Mobile device maker, Sendo, have agreed an out of court settlement with industry giant, Microsoft. The specifics of the agreement have not been disclosed, yet is purported to be around the hundreds of millions mark. Sendo are "extremely pleased with the terms".
The dispute arose over a partnership between the two companies. Sendo helped Microsoft into the mobile phone market, where it lacked expertise. After developing software with Sendo, supposedly Microsoft illegally gave information learned from Sendo to low cost OEM"s in Asia. The two companies broke up 2 weeks before product launch, and Sendo sued Microsoft soon after.
Microsoft have long accepted lawsuits as part of its business model, and the payout might register as a blip on this years profit levels. Sendo intend to move onto to new products and technologies, and undoubtedly now have a good financial base to do this.
