After HP announced the Elite x3 back in February at Mobile World Congress, you can finally buy it as of today in a Microsoft Store. Microsoft published a blog post today to show off the device, which can be purchased for $799 and includes a Desk Dock.
In the hands-on video, Mollie Ruiz-Hopper, Editor-in-Chief of the Windows Blog, shows off various features of the device, such as Windows Hello and Continuum. The Elite x3 actually has two biometric sensors, which include a fingerprint reader and an iris scanner.
HP boasts that the Snapdragon 820 chipset that powers the device is equivalent to an Intel Core i3. By using virtualization to run classic desktop apps, the company promises a full PC experience.
Mollie also points out that the battery life should be excellent, promising 33 hours of talk time, 14 hours of web browsing, or 13 hours of video playback, exclaiming, "That"s a lot of juice." It"s also IP67 water resistant, meaning that it can be submerged in up to one meter of water for up to 30 minutes.
