Last week, Microsoft showed off Windows 10, let us play with HoloLens, and gave a quick look at the new Office applications that are built for touch. For those of you who want to learn a little bit more about the new Office touch apps, Microsoft released a video that goes over the high-points of the new applications.
You can watch the video below, which is hosted by Ben Walters and Jeremy Chapman who discuss the new Excel, Word and PowerPoint touch apps. During the video, they explain unique features in Windows - like inking support, Insights and Tellme.
While these apps are not available yet, the updated touch app for OneNote has been released and you can check it out here.
The Office touch apps will play a key role in Microsoft"s future as Windows expands its support for "non-traditional" interfaces, such as touch, gestures and voice - not only on devices like the Surface Pro 3, but also next-gen systems like HoloLens.
Office is a key application that can drive adoption of new platforms in the enterprise and if Microsoft can effectively show that these touch apps work as well as their traditional counterparts, it will likely help sell more touch-enabled devices. For now, check out the video above to get a better look at the new apps and when we hear more about their availability, we will be sure to let you know.
