Microsoft slashes Band price down to £49.99 in the UK with free charging cable

Ever since it unveiled its Band 2 wearable device in October, Microsoft has been gradually clearing out stocks of the original model. Pricing of the first Band in the UK has been all over the place in recent weeks, falling to £69.99 at one point, before inexplicably returning to its original £169.99 price, even as it was selling the new Band 2 for the same amount.

But the deepest discount came in late November, when it was offering the Band for just £49.99, along with a free additional charging cable, worth £16.99 - and it"s now offering the same deal again. However, if you"re considering a purchase at that price, you probably shouldn"t wait too long.

The Band is also available via Amazon - but at far higher prices

The offer is slated to remain available until March 1, or "while supplies last" - and that last bit is especially relevant, given that the small and medium sizes of the Band are already out of stock at the Microsoft Store.

With stocks already running low, this promotion may well be the last opportunity to buy the original Band direct from Microsoft in the UK, at any price.

For now, the Band is also available via other retailers, including Amazon - but at time of writing, the prices there are much higher. Marketplace retailers are offering the device from around £115, while Amazon itself is selling it for just under £145.
