Four weeks ago, Microsoft released a new "Xbox One with Kinect Bundle", including Dance Central Spotlight, Zoo Tycoon, and Kinect Sports Rivals, priced at $499. If you"ve been thinking of buying the new bundle, you might want to get your credit card ready, as it"s now available for a good deal less.
Microsoft"s Larry Hryb - better known to gamers as Major Nelson - revealed that the company is slashing the cost of the bundle by $100 in a limited-time promotional offer, available via the Microsoft Store and various other major retailers. From today, the Xbox One with Kinect Bundle will be on sale for just $399 USD / $449 CAD / $7,999 MXN in the US, Canada and Mexico, respectively.
And there"s good news too if you already own an Xbox One, but you"ve been considering buying the standalone Kinect sensor to expand the capabilities of your console. Usually priced at $149.99, you can now pick it up for just $99.
While it seems fair to say that Kinect hasn"t exactly been the runaway success that Microsoft originally hoped - most Xbox Ones sold these days don"t include the sensor - the Major emphasizes that the company is "continuing to invest in Kinect, and looking forward to launching the Cortana personal assistant on Xbox One in 2016".
Before that, on November 12, Microsoft will release one of its biggest updates ever for the console, delivering a new user experience based on Windows 10, featuring a completely redesigned interface.
