As Microsoft gets closer to reaching the big 100,000 Windows 8 app milestone in the Windows Store, the company is making a new effort to help app developers who might be interested in making Modern UI app creations for their OS.
This week, Microsoft announced the launch of their official Windows App Builder Blog as part of their family of Windows blogs. The first blog post is co-written by Ted Dworkin, Microsoft"s Director of Program Management for the Windows Store, along with the Group Program Manager for Windows, Ian LeGrow.
Microsoft previously had two blogs, one for Windows 8 app development and the other for Windows Store news and information. This new Windows App Builder Blog will replace both of those earlier sites. Dworkin and LeGrow state, "With the upcoming release of Windows 8.1 Preview, we’re combining both these blogs into one. This way, you can get all your Windows development in one place—and you can look forward to lots of details about the developer story for Windows 8.1."
The new blog will offer app developers some hints on how to make the best Windows 8 apps they can, along with help on how to go through the Windows Store submission process. The blog will also offer help on how to monetize apps and how to promote and market those app, such as the recent GasBuddy app.
We suspect that there will be a lot of entries on this blog next week, as Microsoft"s BUILD 2013 conference gets underway in San Francisco.
