Microsoft Surface RT $150 price cuts now live

While rumors of a deep price cut for the Surface RT tablet made their way to the Internet last week, today Microsoft pulled the trigger on the smaller price on its Windows RT tablet. Both versions of the Surface RT are now priced permanently at $150 less than what they were when the product first launched in October 2012.

At this rate they"ll be selling like hotcakes!

The websites for the Microsoft Store, Staples and Best Buy now all show that the 32 GB version of the Surface RT, without its keyboard, can now be bought for $349, while the 64 GB version is priced at $449. In June, before today"s price cuts went into effect, Microsoft offered consumers a way to buy the tablets and they would receive a free Touch or Type cover that are normally priced at $119 or $129, Today"s price cut on the tablet itself means that buyers who also get a cover actually save a little bit more money overall versus June"s free cover deal.

Keep in mind that qualified students can also get the 32 GB Surface RT for even less money, $199, until August 31st. The deal extends to the Touch Cover, which is priced at just $50 for students, and the Type Cover for $90.
