Microsoft Teams for Android updated with video call support, Intune app management, and more

With general availability right around the corner, Microsoft is busy updating Teams, its "chat-based workspace" tool. On this occasion, it"s the turn of the Android variant to get a couple of new features.

This latest update brings the app to version 1416/1.0.0.2017030802, adding support for what the firm dubs "immersive video calls", and application management through Microsoft Intune. Improvements have been made on the performance and accessibility sides too, and the usual bug fixes are present as well.

Microsoft"s answer to Slack has been reasonably popular, with around 30,000 organizations using the preview version as of January 2017. Teams is on track for general availability on March 14, a milestone which will be celebrated via a live-stream at 8:30 AM PT that very day. You can register for it at this link.

If you wish to get the updated Android version of Teams, it is available at the Google Play Store page.
