It"s been almost three months since Microsoft announced its competitor to Slack, called Teams. Today, the company is providing some insight into the momentum of its new service, saying that it"s now in use by 30,000 organizations, spanning across 145 different markets and in 19 languages.
The service has been in preview since it was announced; it"s slated for general availability this quarter, and the firm says that it"s still on track to meet that deadline. Since there are only two months left and Microsoft isn"t providing an actual date (or even a month), it seems safe to assume that it will be later on in March.
The company also drew attention to the fact that Office 365 now has 85 million monthly active users. Presumably, this refers to commercial subscribers, as last week in the company"s earnings report, it confirmed that there are 24.9 million consumer subscribers to the service, and the firm previously reported 70 million commercial customers last year.
The growth of Teams can be attributed to the high number of Office 365 subscribers, as it"s included with all Enterprise E1, E3, and E5 plans, as well as Business Essentials and Business Premium.
