Microsoft Teams will be generally available on March 14

Microsoft announced today that its "chat-based workspace", Teams, will be generally available beginning one week from today, on March 14. The service was announced back in November, and it"s been in preview ever since. In fact, it"s already being used by over 30,000 organizations.

The firm will be holding an online event - much like it"s doing for today"s launch of Visual Studio 2017 - which will include Corporate Vice President Kirk Koenigsbauer and an unnamed special guest, who "will share perspectives on teamwork, what’s new in Microsoft Teams, and talk about how customers are using Office 365 to collaborate and deliver great results."

Meant as a competitor to popular team-collaboration service Slack, Microsoft Teams is included with commercial Office 365 subscriptions. These plans include Enterprise E1, E3, E5, Business Essentials, and Business Premium.

The live-streamed event next Tuesday will begin at 8:30am PT, and you can register for it now. Once you submit all of your information, you"ll be given an option to set a reminder in your calendar.
