With all the recent discussion - along with leaks, photos, rumours and more - of Windows 8.1, you"d be forgiven for wondering what"s going on with Windows Phone. We"ve known for some time that a major update to Windows Phone is on the way - part of the "Blue" wave of updates that will encompass Windows 8 and Windows Server, along with "Gemini" updates to the Office suite.
But information has been pretty light when it comes to Windows Phone, and with rumours suggesting that its Blue update might be delayed until the first half of 2014, many will have been wondering if we"ll hear anything about Windows Phone 8.1 any time soon.
Well, worry no longer. In a tweet today, Microsoft revealed that it will be sharing more about its plans for Windows Phone 8 next month:
Like Windows Phone now? It gets better. More to share in June.

At this stage, it"s not 100% certain that this will be an announcement of Windows Phone 8.1, or if Microsoft will just reveal more details on interim updates, such as General Distribution Release 3 (GDR3), which is expected to bring improvements such as support for quad-core processors and 1080p displays.
While it"s possible that we may hear some details about its plans for Windows Phone at TechEd North America next week, it"s likely that the company will be saving the good stuff for its BUILD conference in San Francisco at the end of next month.
We"ll have correspondents at both TechEd and BUILD - so stay tuned to Neowin, and be sure to follow us on Twitter @NeowinFeed for all the latest developments.
Update: Well, folks, we have to put our hands up to this one - in sheer, blind excitement about the possibility of actual, real Windows Phone update news coming, we overlooked the fact that this info came from an unofficial non-Microsoft account, as has been pointed out in the comments below. Hey, even we make mistakes sometimes! Sorry for getting your hopes up.
