Microsoft keeps making improvements to its To-Do service, making it a worthy successor to the now-defunct Wunderlist. In a new update that"s rolling out to beta testers on Android, Microsoft is introducing task list groups on the sidebar. This should make it easier to keep things tidy, so you can group together similar kinds of tasks that don"t necessarily belong in the same list.
In addition to that, following the addition of the capability to assign tasks in shared lists to specific users, assigned tasks will now be shown in the Assigned to me section on the sidebar menu. Previously, this section was reserved for tasks assigned in Microsoft Planner, but now it"ll be a lot more useful for those without business accounts.
Otherwise, this is a fairly small update. For accessibility, Microsoft has added an in-app notification when the app theme is changed, and this release also fixes an issue with syncing.
As of right now, the new features are only available in the Android app based on our testing, but they should make their way to other platforms soon. If you haven"t yet, you can download Microsoft To-Do from the Play Store and sign up for the beta program from there if you want new features before everyone else.
