Microsoft to release 'Halo 4' sports-themed DLC on Aug. 20

Earlier this week it was announced that "Halo 4" has become the best-selling game in the U.S. in the history of Microsoft Studios. Today, as part of the festivities of the Rooster Teeth Expo in Austin, Texas, Microsoft announced plans to release a new downloadable expansion for the Xbox 360 shooter.

Xbox Wire reports that the "Halo 4" Champions bundle will be released on Aug. 20 for 800 Microsoft points. It will contain three DLC packs to the game, and each will be available separately on the same day. One of them is the Bullseye Pack, which will add two new multiplayer maps to the game.

The Bullseye Pack also adds a new type of Spartan armor, shown above, which looks a bit like a football uniform. Finally, the pack contains a new multiplayer gameplay mode called Ricochet, which is described as a Halo version of basketball. The pack will be sold separately from the Champions bundle for 480 Microsoft points.

The other two DLC packs in the Champions bundle will cost 240 Microsoft points each as separate downloads. One of them is the Infinity Armor Pack, which adds some new player armor to the game; the other DLC pack is the Steel Skin Pack, which puts a steampunk art theme to various player weapons in the game.
