After years of rumors around a Surface phone, Microsoft finally introduced one in October. First, the company introduced the Surface Neo, a dual-screen PC running a new version of Windows called Windows 10X. Then, in typical Panos Panay fashion, the audience was asked to watch another video.
The video showed a woman using her Surface Neo, and while typing, a ringtone is heard, and suddenly the audience knew that it was a phone. The woman took the Surface Duo out of her bag and unfolded it to answer it.
If hearing that ringtone tickled your fancy, there"s some good news. Microsoft has filed a trademark on it, and you can download it. There"s a direct link to the MP3 file on the USPTO website.
Of course, this doesn"t mean that that will be the default ringtone on the Surface Duo. The Duo isn"t slated to launch until this holiday season, so it"s likely that details like that aren"t even finalized yet. It"s possible, of course, since it was shown in the teaser video. But for now, it"s all we have, and if you want to download it and set it as your own ringtone, you can.
