In a bid to boost the international appeal of its Tablet PC platform, Microsoft has unveiled multi-language functionality for its Windows XP Tablet PC Edition operating system.
The Microsoft Tablet PC Multilingual User Interface & Recognizer Pack lets users or administrators change settings such as menus, dialogue boxes and help files to multiple languages.
It will also allow installation of multiple handwriting and speech recognition languages on a single Tablet PC.
Microsoft said that the pack "greatly eases IT administration in multilingual computing environments" and reduces the cost of desktop change and configuration management.
The functionality is available as a preinstall option from Microsoft Tablet PC original equipment manufacturers or through Microsoft corporate licensing programmes.
