Microsoft updates Bing mobile for the US and UK

Microsoft is constantly working to make Bing the best search engine on the market. They are always looking to innovate and expand their marketshare whenever possible. Microsoft has announced today several updates to the US mobile Bing platform and also that the UK platform will be receiving updates as well.

The Bing platform now supports several new features including the ability to share content on Facebook, split view for maps/lists, view the top headlines in news across several categories and view search history and trending topics. Microsoft stated the following features on the Bing Blog:

  • Share on Facebook: Quickly and easily share images, local business details and apps (iOS devices only) with Facebook friends, making it easy  for them to comment and “Like” what you find interesting and for you to get their opinion while on the go.
  • Maps/List Split View: Now people can get both the map and the list in a single view, making it easier to see business listings and directions or transit and walking directions on one page.
  • News: View the day’s news, flip through the top headlines and images and dive deeper into specific categories, including Entertainment, Sports and Science/Technology, among others.
  • Search History/Trending Topics: Easily reference past searches on your mobile device with the touch of a button, or view the most popular searches on Bing at any given time with Trending Topics.

In conjunction to today’s U.S. updates, Bing has also launched updates to Bing for Mobile in the UK. These include: Facebook sharing, maps/list split view, enhanced local listings, auto suggest, real-time transit for London.

All of the updates are welcomed additions to the mobile Bing platform. As Microsoft continues to add more and more features, they are trying to make Bing your one-stop shop for all your mobile searching needs.
