A few weeks back, Microsoft announced that Golf tracking support would be coming to the Band and today, that feature is now available on the Windows Phone version of the Health app. If you head to the app store and search for updates, the download should show up immediately or in the near future as the update rolls out.
With the update, the Band is able to tell the difference between a practice swing and an actual shot, so it is able to keep track of your game without your constant need for input. Because of the GPS sensor and the course layouts from TaylorMade, information such as distance to the front, middle and back of the green can all be seen on your wrist.
The Band will also keep track of your score, can help you find the next hole after you put out, and track all of your other health and fitness vitals too. And before and after you tee off, there are guided Golf-related warm-up and workout session to make sure you stay loose during your tournament..
As of now, it looks like only the Windows Phone app has been updated but we suspect the apps for the other platforms will follow suit quickly.
