Ten weeks ago, Microsoft started talking about Sway, its modern take on story telling and a new way to present content. Since that announcement, the company has received over 175,000 requests for an invite to the platform and that number is growing by the thousands each day.
The good news is that if you want to try out Sway, the company is removing the "invite" requirement and now anyone can take a crack at creating a Sway. If you want to try out the new app, you can get started by going here.
If you had tried out Sway prior to the latest update, you will know that they platform was quite basic but the team behind the app are adding more features with the public release too. With this release, the company has added "Undo/Redo" buttons, added bullet and numbering formatting capabilities, made it easier to edit paragraphs, reordering has been optimized, you can now import PDFs, and finally the color picker has been updated.
Finally, for those of you in Australia, Microsoft has now made the iPhone app available in the region; prior to this update it was only available in New Zealand.
While these changes seem quite basic, on an individual level, when you add them all up, it does make for a modest jump in the features available and the usability of the application.
