Microsoft's BUILD conference is sold out, Windows 9 highly anticipated

Like many before it, Microsoft’s BUILD conference has sold out. The conference, which kicks off in early April (Neowin will be there) is Microsoft’s premier developer conference.

If rumors hold true, this iteration of BUILD could be highly exciting as Microsoft may state its vision for Windows 9 which is expected to ship around April of 2015, roughly one year after the conference. Further, Microsoft will likely start releasing preview iterations of the platform later this year but a build is not expected to be released at the conference.

Typically, developer conferences sell out rather quickly. Apple’s conferences have sold out in minutes and Google’s in hours. Microsoft’s conference last year sold out in a day. We wouldn’t read too much into the time it takes for the show to sell out but the conference did take longer than many were expecting for all the seats to be filled.

Microsoft’s BUILD website is quiet on what the conference will talk about and the session listings are not posted. Sessions are usually posted much closer to the actual conference and occasionally the titles of these events point to upcoming, yet unannounced, features for the Windows platform.

With the event about 10 weeks away, we won’t have to wait too much longer to gain a better understanding of what to expect at the event that might include the release/announcement of the Windows 8.1 spring update.

Thanks for the tip Greg!
