Microsoft"s Kin phones might not be so exclusive to Verizon and Vodafone, after a hacker, known on the Internet as Conflipper, managed to pull up a list of carriers in an early edition of the Kin OS.
The Kin phones, Kin One and Kin Two, are expected to hit the market next month, which will offer an exciting and easy way to share through a web based interface, allowing for users to access their uploaded data anywhere with an Internet connection.
Conflipper tweeted about his discovery, posting the carrier findings on pastebin, showing 20 available carriers. The list of available carriers:
- ATT (US)
- T-Mobile (US)
- Verizon (US)
- Fido (Canada)
- China Mobile
- China Unicom
- O2 (Germany)
- T-Mobile (Germany)
- Vodafone (Germany)
- Vodafone (Spain)
- Vodafone (France)
- Vodafone (Portugal)
- Vodafone (Italy)
- DoCoMo (Japan)
- Softbank (Japan)
- Telia (Sweden)
- Three (Sweden)
- Orange (UK)
- O2 (UK)
- Vodafone (UK)
This however doesn"t mean that Microsoft plans on selling the phone through other carriers, but the support is, or was, available at one point in time, possibly as a showcase feature while trying to pitch the phone. Whether or not Microsoft plans to introduce the Kin to multiple carriers in the near future, or has built in future support for the devices, the evidence of the support is present in the OS.
