In October, Microsoft unveiled the Surface Studio, a high-end all-in-one PC with a 28-inch touchscreen, along with support for its Surface Pen, and its new Surface Dial interaction tool. The Studio went on sale at the end of last year, priced from $2,999 to $4,199 - but so far, it"s only been made available in the United States.
Microsoft hasn"t yet announced any plans to make the device available internationally - but today, one of its representatives revealed details of its upcoming launch in one market outside of the US.
At the IT Partners industry event near Paris, Microsoft confirmed to French site Numerama that the Surface Studio will go on sale there "in limited quantities" in July, with increased availability of stock planned for September.
By that time, the Surface Studio will be almost a year old, and two and a half years will have passed since the Nvidia GeForce GTX 965M GPU - which is in the "entry-level" Studio - was first announced. Some laptops with the 965M and the more powerful GTX 980M, which features in higher-end Surface Studio models, launched a year and a half ago.
Pricing for the Surface Studio in Europe hasn"t yet been revealed, but it seems likely that the base model will cost at least €3,000 EUR.
Meanwhile, in December, Microsoft announced plans to launch its updated Surface Book with Performance Base models in eight new markets, including France, in the first quarter of 2017. The company hasn"t publicly discussed any further details on those plans since then.
