The festive shopping season is now well and truly upon us, and we’ve already seen some incredible bargains available. But if you missed some of the awesome promotions that were on offer around Black Friday, don’t worry – there will still be plenty more opportunities to get your hands on some great deals in the run up to Christmas.
In fact, Microsoft has quite a few bargains lined up with the return of its ‘12 Days of Deals’ promotion this year, kicking off today with one of the newest additions to the Windows family. That device is the Toshiba Encore Mini, a 7-inch Windows 8.1 tablet that went on sale just a few weeks ago.
Key specs of the Encore Mini include:
- Quad-core 1.33Ghz Intel Atom Z3735G processor
- 1GB RAM
- 16GB onboard storage (plus microSD support up to 128GB)
- Front-facing camera
- 2MP rear camera
- 802.11n Wi-Fi
- Bluetooth 4.0
- Weighs around 350g
- 11mm-thick
- Up to 7.3 hours of battery life
The tablet costs $119 at full price, although it has recently been available on the Microsoft Store for just $99. Today, though, it will be on sale for just $79, including a free 16GB microSD card (which normally retails for $19.99). What’s even more appealing is that it comes with a free one-year Office 365 Personal subscription, worth $69.99, which itself includes unlimited OneDrive online storage.
In other words, you’re basically getting the tablet free with these Microsoft services, and while the Encore Mini isn’t going to win any awards for kick-ass performance, it’s hard to argue with the high value that it offers at such a low price.
The tablet will be available on the Microsoft Store site at that price from 0800 ET today, and you’ll be pleased to know that it’s a Signature Edition device, which means that it’s free from the bloatware that manufacturers usually love loading up their devices with.
