Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer will be among the people who will take part in today"s financial analyst meeting.
Microsoft has been making a ton of news lately, from its "One Microsoft" reorganization in July to the announcement that CEO Steve Ballmer will retire in the next year to its deal to acquire Nokia"s devices and services business. All of those topics, and many more, will almost certainly be brought up later today in Microsoft"s 2013 financial analyst meeting.
Microsoft has invited many analysts to attend the event at its Bellevue, Wash., office, which gets started at 4 p.m. Eastern time. It"s the first such meeting in two years, as the company decided not to hold one in 2012. Journalists have not been invited to physically attend the event but they, and everyone else, will be able to watch the meeting via a video live stream. Unfortunately, Microsoft has chosen not to allow any video embeds of the event.
Microsoft will likely use this meeting to offer updates to analysts about the company"s reorganization plan, which could impact future financial results. We could also get some updates on the status of Windows 8 sales, a progress report on the Xbox One console and more. Ballmer is expected to attend the meeting and participate in a Q&A, along with other Microsoft executives.
