Microsoft's fastest typing record on Windows Phone beaten on Android

Fleksy, a third party keyboard for Android-based devices has announced that one of the users of its product has broken the fastest typing record.

At the launch of Windows Phone 8.1, Microsoft demonstrated the record breaking typing performance by a user with the Word Flow keyboard which is a part of the upcoming update to the operating system. Now, Fleksy has revealed that Marcel Fernandes, a long time user of its application from New York, has bested the previous timing and set a new Guinness World Record for typing on a touchscreen device.

Marcel clocked the record in 18.19 seconds which is 0.25 less than Microsoft"s record of 18.44. To maintain consistency, the participants are expected to type the message "The razor-toothed piranhas of the genera Serrasalmus and Pygocentrus are the most ferocious freshwater fish in the world. In reality they seldom attack humans." in order to break the record.
