Microsoft"s popular time-lapse editor, Hyperlapse Pro, is now available on Mac. The Mac version is said to retain all the features from the Windows version, allowing users to take video footage and convert it into smooth and stabilized time-lapse.
The app can import footage from almost any type of device, including phones and GoPros. With that footage, users can alter its speed between 1-to-25 times and produce hyperlapse videos at a resolution and frame rate of their choice. Microsoft says the cameras with a wide field of view produce the best results.
Josh Weisberg, a principle program manager at Microsoft"s Technology and Research organization, says Hyperlapse makes footage shareable where it often be discarded.
“A lot of people are recording video – millions have bought GoPros – but a lot of this video doesn’t get watched, or it gets watched once...
[Hyperlapsing] is almost like a different effect, like a new style, you’re moving with the camera. People get mesmerized by it.”
The Hyperlapse Pro for Mac release comes just days after the Microsoft"s Project Oxford team announced emotion recognition software would be added to the app in coming months.
Hyperlapse Pro trial version is free but imposes a watermark on each video. A single-Mac license removing the watermark is available at the Microsoft Store for $49.99.
