Microsoft's looking to push a Windows Phone dev preview update this week

If you are using Windows Phone and are reading this post, there is a good chance that you are part of the preview program that delivers software updates ahead of the general rollout. It"s a program designed for developers to help them get the software they need to build apps for the latest version of Windows Phone but since it is easy to join, many enthusiast participate too.

For those of you who are using an HTC device and have not been able to update to the latest builds, there is good news on the horizon. Joe Belfiore took to Twitter to post that he and his crew are hoping to push out an update this week that will address storage issues, HTC support and Cyan updates too; you can see his tweet below.

Everyone asking-- we"re hoping to push some updates to Dev Preview this week, addressing storage install probs, HTC support, Cyan ramp-up.

His tweet makes no guarantee that the update will go out this week but seeing as the announcement went out on Monday, he must be reasonably sure that the update will occur on, or before, Friday.

Windows Phone has been adding a plethora of partners over the past few months, if you haven"t done so yet, make sure to check out our guide here.
