The Lumia 435 is one of the most affordable Windows Phones - indeed, one of the most affordable smartphones - ever to be released. Announced last month alongside the Lumia 532, the 435 has since made its way to various European markets, as well as some parts of Asia.
The low-cost handset has also been available in the United States for the last couple of weeks, albeit only via certain retailers rather than carriers. Newegg began selling the 435 for $110 earlier this month, but as Windows Central reports, B&H is now offering the device for just $99.99, off-contract and unlocked.
While Newegg"s low price is certainly impressive, it"s worth highlighting the retailer"s absurdly misleading "savings" guidance, which claims that its current price represents a 67% discount on the usual cost - or around $190 off. That would indicate a regular retail price of $284.99, which is actually over $200 higher than Microsoft"s suggested price for the Lumia 435 of €69 EUR (just under $80 USD) before taxes.
So if you grab the Lumia 435 from Newegg, you"ll certainly be getting the device at a decent price, but don"t swallow the retailer"s A-grade BS about saving you almost $200.
