Two months ago - almost to the day - Neowin exclusively reported that Microsoft"s new Lumia 830 was heading to AT&T. Of course, a few people (and more than a few other news publications) had forgotten all about that when AT&T confirmed the news five weeks later, but the carrier stopped short of saying when exactly it will start offering the new device.
The folks over at WPCentral have spoken to their sources, who have said that AT&T is expected to launch the new handset on November 7, although pricing for the device is still not yet clear. It is believed that AT&T will only stock the black version of the handset, but with interchangeable rear plates, users will be able to switch it out for the other white, orange or green options.
Key specs of the Lumia 830 include:
- 5-inch HD (1280x720px) ClearBlack IPS LCD with Gorilla Glass 3
- Quad-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400
- 1GB RAM
- 16GB onboard storage (plus microSD support up to 128GB)
- 10MP PureView camera with ZEISS optics and LED flash
- 0.9MP wide-angle front-facing camera
- NFC
- Bluetooth 4.0
- 139.4 x 70.7 x 8.5mm; 150g
If the November date is correct, the handset"s launch on AT&T will come several weeks after it becomes available in many other major markets. The Lumia 830 will go on sale in China on October 13, and will soon be available in the UK - we"ll be getting our hands on one from Microsoft UK later this week, so stay tuned for more on the new "affordable flagship".
