Microsoft's Mixed Reality Dev Days to take place on May 17-18, with a tour coming later

Just last week, Microsoft hosted the Windows Developer Day, where it talked about Windows 10X, the Surface Neo, and the Surface Duo - a presentation focused mostly on dual-screen app development. If your jam is mixed reality, though, your event is coming in a few months.

Microsoft has announced through Twitter that it will be hosting its Mixed Reality Dev Days on May 17 and 18, at the company"s conference center in Redmond, Washington. These are the two days before the company"s Build event, which is geared at Microsoft developers in general. As you"d expect, the Mixed Reality Dev Days focus mostly on development for headsets like Microsoft"s HoloLens 2.

In fact, it"s possible that what we"ll be seeing is related to Microsoft"s event at MWC. The world"s largest mobile technology event was canceled due to the Covid-19 outbreak that took the world by storm this year, meaning Microsoft won"t be able to host a presentation at the event anymore.

If traveling to the United States isn"t a possibility for you, you"ll be happy to know that Microsoft is taking the Mixed Reality Dev Days to other parts of the world with Dev Days Tour. The tour will go to Germany and Japan at some point this year, but Microsoft isn"t committing to a date just yet, as it"s still trying to find a venue.
