Microsoft's new 30 second ad promotes a unified Windows Store for all Windows devices

It seems Microsoft has something to celebrate now that the Windows and Windows Phone Store have passed well over 500,000 apps, and they have done this with a snazzy new ad on their Windows YouTube channel that appears to promote universal apps between all types of Windows powered devices; the description of the video is as follows:

Take a closer look at how apps run smarter on Windows. They sync between devices to work across phones, tablets and PCs, and they run up to four at a time, side-by-side. With game apps, lifestyle apps, entertainment apps, social apps and more, Windows Store has the apps you want. Learn more at https://www.microsoft.com/windowsapps

Microsoft has made great efforts in the past couple of years to close the "app-gap" and also encourage developers to join its platform. It seems like we are starting to see the fruition of these efforts even as Microsoft is making it slightly less attractive to develop for Windows with the announcement that developers would no longer get 80% of sales commissions after earning $25,000 through the Windows Store.

Microsoft also officially announced last week something we"ve known all along, that the Windows Phone Store and Windows Store would be unified with the release of Windows 10.
