Microsoft unveiled the latest additions to its Nokia Windows Phone line-up today: the 3G Lumia 730 Dual SIM and 4G Lumia 735 "selfie phones", and the "affordable flagship" Lumia 830. We had a bit of hands-on time with the devices earlier, but if you"re already planning to buy one of them, you won"t have too long to wait.
The company stated that the handsets would begin rolling out to markets around the world later this month - but as with most product launches, that doesn"t mean it will be available everywhere on day one.
The United Kingdom won"t be one of the very first markets to see the new devices, but Brits keen to get their hands on them will only be kept waiting an extra couple of weeks. James Guion, head of Microsoft product marketing in the UK & Ireland, said at a media briefing today that both devices will launch there in "early October".
The devices will come with the very latest firmware and OS version pre-installed - Lumia Denim with Windows Phone 8.1 Update - which means that those buying these handsets in the UK will be able to use the localized version of Cortana out of the box.
What we don"t know yet is just how much the devices will cost when they go on sale in the UK. Microsoft announced guideline pricing of €330 EUR (£261 GBP) before subsidies and tax for the Lumia 830; and €219 EUR (£173 GBP) for the Lumia 735. However, exact pricing in the UK will likely differ from these direct currency conversions, and carriers will also offer their own deals on contract.
