Microsoft launched several Surface products this week, including the new Surface Go 2, the Surface Book 3, the Surface Headphones 2, and a list of accessories. The company also finally announced the availability of the Surface Earbuds, something that was launched back in October 2019. Now, the company is also making available a new Surface Audio app (spotted by OnMSFT) on all major platforms to manage and set up its headphones and earbuds offerings.
The Audio app will help users install firmware updates, manage the device’s connections, reset the devices when required, and even provide equalizer options. It will also let users set up Cortana on the device, something that both, the Headphones and the Earbuds support. Other functions include more basic features such as viewing device and battery information, language settings, and more.
The app indeed is a nifty way to manage various device settings on Windows, Android, and iOS. While the Cortana Beta app on Windows 10 received an update recently that brought a ‘Hardware’ section, it makes sense for Microsoft to offer dedicated apps for managing the audio devices on other platforms owing to the impending demise of the digital assistant on mobile platforms outside of the U.S.
Those interested in downloading the app can head to the Microsoft Store on Windows 10, the Play Store on Android or the App Store on iOS to download the app.
