Microsoft's new Windows 1.0 teaser confirms Stranger Things promo

All week this week, Microsoft has been teasing Windows 1.0, all the way down to changing profile pictures on social media channels to the original Windows logo. Being that Windows 1.0 was released in 1985, we were quick to speculate that it had something to do with the new season of Stranger Things.

Microsoft confirmed as much today in a new teaser. The video in the tweet shows an old computer with a flickering screen, displaying the original version of Windows and the Netflix logo. There are also rats running behind the computer, along with a Camp Know Where hat, both of which tie into season three of the series.

The Xbox account seems to have gotten in on the fun as well, writing in upside-down letters, "Something strange is happening with Xbox". It"s unclear if Xbox is included on the promotion, or if it"s just to promote Stranger Things 3: The Game. Xbox does have its own Stranger Things 3 page already though, which mainly serves to tell users to stream the new season on the Netflix app.

The Morse code in the Windows tweet translates to July 8, so we should hear more on Monday.
