At this point, it"s pretty much tradition for Microsoft to hold a Surface event in October, and even with everything being delayed because of a pandemic, that"s not changing this year. According to reputable leakster WalkingCat, this year"s event will be September 30 or October 1, depending on what time zone you"re in.
Surface event = Oct. 1 or Sep. 30, not sure about the timezone stuff 😅

However, it seems that this year"s event will be a bit different than years past. Typically, we get a new Surface Pro and a new Surface Laptop every year, or at least we have for the last couple of years, but that"s apparently not happening.
First of all, we"re expecting a successor to the Surface Pro X, probably called the Surface Pro X 2 with Microsoft"s tendency to give things numbers. It will have a refreshed Microsoft SQ2 processor, and it will come in a platinum color variant. The company will also be selling different colored Surface Keyboards, like it does for the Pro series.
The other thing we"re expecting is a 12.5-inch Surface Laptop that"s going to cost between $500 and $600. This entry-level machine is expected to come with 4GB RAM, 64GB of storage, and an Intel Core i5.
Microsoft hasn"t sent out official invitations for an event just yet, so we"ll see what happens when it does.
