Microsoft first announced its Surface Duo smartphone in October 2019, but it wasn"t until mid-August 2020 that the company actually detailed the dual-screen device. Along with last-gen specs like a Snapdragon 855, 4G connectivity, and an 11MP f/2.0 camera, it had a premium price tag of $1,399.99. Luckily, there are deals, and one of those deals is available now at Best Buy and Amazon.
Right now, you can get the Surface Duo for $400 off of its normal price, so that means that you can get the 128GB model for $999.99 and the 256GB model for $1,099.99. Right now, Best Buy is the only one that has the 128GB variant, while the 256GB configuration is available from both retailers. Best Buy also knocks another $50 off of the price if you activate it when you purchase it.
The main selling point of the Surface Duo is that it has two screens, both of which are 5.6-inch 4:3 AMOLED displays with 1800x1350 resolutions. They combine for an 8.1-inch 3:2 2700x1800 display, and when it"s unfolded like that, it"s just 4.8mm thin. Naturally, it"s designed with productivity in mind, with Microsoft also including Surface Pen support.
Of course, it didn"t think about the consumer use case as much, with a mediocre camera. It"s also got a Snapdragon 855, which is two generations old now, and 6GB of RAM. The color that it comes in is called Glacier.
If you want to check out the phone on Best Buy, you can find it here, or you can find it here on Amazon. Microsoft will have this deal on its own store later this week.
