Microsoft is rolling out a firmware update for its Surface Go tablet, which is available for all versions of the device running Windows 10 versions 1803 or higher. The update is a fairly minor one, with a fix for Generic IO and Memory Access.
Here"s the full changelog:
Windows Update History Name | Device Manager Name |
---|---|
Surface – System – 1.5.1.0 | Generic IO & Memory Access - System 1.5.1.0 improves display calibration addressing incorrect power setting behaviors associated with Windows 10 October 2018 Update. |
Microsoft noted that there are no known issues with this update.
Interestingly, there"s no way to manually install it, as the firm still hasn"t posted a firmware and driver bundle for the Surface Go. The newest device to offer one is the Surface Book 2, which means that the newer Surface Pro 6 and Surface Laptop 2 don"t have bundles available either. In fact, those devices aren"t even listed on the Surface Update History page just yet.
Also, while this update is available for all versions of the device on Windows 10 versions 1803 and higher, there"s really only one model of the device, and one version of Windows that runs on it. The Windows 10 October 2018 Update has been removed from servers, and the LTE version of the Surface Go still hasn"t been released.
