Microsoft has announced that its new Surface Headphones are now available from retailers such as the Microsoft Store, John Lewis, and Currys PC World for £329 in the UK. The product was made for available for pre-order in the U.S. on November 15 and was subsequently released in that country on Monday, November 19, almost two weeks ago. Until Thursday, the U.S. was the only country where the device was available for purchase.
The light grey headphones include an adjustable headband, memory foam ear cups, four microphones and 13 different levels of ambient noise cancellation which can be adjusted by turning the dial on the left ear. Another dial on the right ear lets you adjust the audio volume. The headphones can be charged using a USB Type-C cable and can be connected to devices with Bluetooth or a detachable 3.5mm cable.
Discussing the headphones, Panos Panay, Chief Product Office at Microsoft, said:
“We built Surface Headphones to complete the Surface experience. To help you get into your flow, wherever you are. Whether you’re in an open work space, a café or on the go, Surface Headphones help tune out or tune in wherever you are.”
Microsoft re-assured in its announcement that despite being optimised for Microsoft Surface devices, it will also work with Android and iOS devices via Bluetooth, of course, if you plan on using the 3.5mm cable it should work with any device with the corresponding port.
