Microsoft's Surface Pen in Burgundy, Black, and Cobalt Blue will arrive later this summer

It was only a couple months ago when Microsoft announced that it would be releasing a new Surface Pen claiming it to be the "fastest digital pen on the planet". While the new model still uses Microsoft"s N-trig technology, the pen now has 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity with just 21ms of latency when paired and used with the Surface Pro.

Beyond just the new features of the pen, Microsoft also announced that the new Surface Pen would be coming in an array of new colors. While pre-orders did open up, it was only available in one color, Platinum, leaving many to wonder when the other colors would arrive. For those that have been patiently waiting, it appears that Microsoft has finally chimed in, stating that it will be coming sometime later in the summer. While this isn"t the best response, it is certainly better than nothing.

If you don"t care about the new colors, you can purchase the Platinum version of the Surface Pen directly from the Microsoft Store for $99.99. For those waiting for the Burgundy, Black, or Cobalt Blue variants, you"ll want to keep checking Neowin for an update or keep an eye on the Microsoft website.
