Microsoft's Surface Pro 6 and Surface Laptop 2 are available now

Two weeks ago, Microsoft introduced the world to the Surface Pro 6 and the Surface Laptop 2. While pre-orders for the devices have been available since then, the devices begin shipping today.

There are two main differences between the two PCs and their predecessors. They now come in black, and they include Intel"s eighth-generation 15W U-series processors. In fact, Microsoft claims that the Surface Laptop 2 is an inexplicable 85% more powerful than the Surface Laptop, despite other companies that went from seventh- to eighth-gen CPUs showing between 30-45% performance improvements.

The Surface Pro 6 starts at $899, and that will get you a Core i5-8250U, 8GB of RAM, and a 128GB SSD. If you want the black one though, you"ll have to bump up the storage to 256GB for $1,199, and the top-end model with a Core i7-8650U, 16GB of RAM, and 1TB of storage costs $2,299.

While the Pro is cheaper than its predecessor - significantly, in some cases - the Surface Laptop 2"s price is the same as the original, despite the downgrade from Windows 10 Pro in S mode to Windows 10 Home. The Laptop 2 starts at $999 with a Core i5, 8GB RAM, and 128GB storage, and it maxes out at $2,699 for a Core i7, 8GB RAM, and a 1TB SSD.

If you want to order the devices, you can find the Pro 6 here and the Laptop 2 here. The Surface Studio 2 will be available on November 15, but you can pre-order that here, starting at $3,499. Surface Headphones pre-orders start on November 15, and you can find the listing here.
