If you have been looking to try out the hit PC sandbox indie game Minecraft, the team that is running the current version of the Humble Indie Bundle has a new deal for you. People who decide to purchase the latest "pay what you want" group of five great indie games will now be able to get a free version of Minecraft ... sort of. Everyone who buys the Humble Indie Bundle 3 will also be able to play the full version of Minecraft until August 14.
Markus "Notch" Persson, the creator of Minecraft, has been a longtime supporter of the Humble Indie Bundle team"s efforts. Indeed he has paid the most for the five games in the Humble Indie Bundle 3 collection. The bundle"s web site shows "notch" spending $4,048 on the games. At the time of this news post, the Humble Indie Bundle 3 has already generated over $730,000 in less than three days with over 11 days to go before the deal expires.
Just a reminder: The games that are a part of Humble Indie Bundle 3 include the 2D physics puzzle game Crayon Physics Deluxe, the puzzle title Cogs, the platformer game VVVVVV, the 2D action game Hammerfight and the physics based platformer And Yet it Moves. Normally buying all five of these games will cost over $50. The games are all DRM free and come in PC, Mac and Linux flavors. As with the previous Humble Indie Bundle events you can also choose to donate money to two charities, the Electronic Frontier Foundation and Child"s Play.
