Although there are thousands of SNES Classic Editions on eBay right now, it appears the some of the more enterprising resellers of the bunch are modifying their models to give bidders added incentive to purchase while also filling their own pockets with a lot more coin.
It was reported earlier that the SNES Classic Edition could be hacked, adding more games. While the installation process of the mod isn"t all that difficult, it still does require some work and knowledge. This appears to have become a golden opportunity for those on eBay, as there are now modded consoles appearing on the auction site, with some commanding upwards of $250 USD. Previously, the console could be had for around $130 to $170. While this might not sound all that bad, we have to remember that the original manufacturers suggested retail price is $79.99.
Although Nintendo hasn"t pushed a massive restock to stores in the past week, there have been a few units popping up here and there at retailers. Despite things looking bleak at the moment, the firm has promised to keep stocks flowing into 2018.
