Monstrum will be coming to consoles on May 22

Monstrum is a Team Junkfish game released in 2015 for the PC. Revealed today on Twitter, Monstrum is coming to Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4.

Monstrum is a survival horror game, in which the player is hunted by one of three monsters on a cargo ship. With no memory of how they got there, the goal of the game is to search for clues and a means of escape. If the player is killed, the game is over. There are no save points or second chances. The player must start over with both a different monster and a different procedurally generated ship layout. With 3 different monsters, each needing a different tactic to beat, each run of the game is meant to feel like a new challenge.

Although it has been announced that the game will be available digitally on May 22, physical copies have been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and so will be released at a later date. Last year, Team Junkfish also announced a multiplayer sequel to Monstrum, in which the monster is controlled by another player. Monstrum 2 will be a 4v1 multiplayer game, taking place on a sea-fortress. The new game will have a similar objective as the first, to solve puzzles and escape while the monster tracks the players down.
