With wireless charging still nowhere to be seen on the newest generation of Apple"s iPhones, it"s been up to accessory manufacturers to fill in the gaps.
The Juice Pack Air, a new battery case by Mophie for the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, does just that. It not only charges your phone like older generations, but does so wirelessly using their Charge Force wireless charging which is also Qi-compatible. Mophie"s Juice Pack Air for iPhone 7 packs in a 2,525mAh battery -- enough for a total of 27 hours according to the company -- while the iPhone 7 Plus variant has a 2,420mAh battery for a total of 33 hours.
Conveniently, the Juice Pack Air prioritizes your iPhone"s battery so when it"s time to charge -- be it wirelessly or when you plug it into a power source -- it will start charging your iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus first and then recharge itself.
As with most battery cases the Mophie Juice Pack Air will add some bulk and weight to your iPhone, but with a raised lip around your display for added protection and the convenience of wireless, it may be a worthwhile trade-off for some. This case also has four LED power indicators on the back to let you know how much charge it has left.
Unlike its previous models, Mophie has followed Apple"s footsteps and abandoned the headphone jack on the Juice Pack Air.
Mophie"s battery case is available in black, gold, blue, rose gold and red for $99 (or £89.95 in the UK). The black color is available in the US now with other colors available in following weeks, while the UK can only pre-order for now.
