Last week, Ubisoft confirmed it would be releasing Assassin"s Creed IV Black Flag, along with an image of yet another member of the Assassin Brotherhood on board what looked like a 18th century pirate vessel. Today, Ubisoft revealed even more information about the next game in its highly popular and long running historical action-adventure series.
Today"s press release states that the game would focus on the character of Edward Kenway, a pirate who Ubisoft says will find himself locked in the endless battle between the Assassins and Templars. You can also expect real life historical figures to show up in the story, including Blackbeard.
In terms of gameplay, Ubisoft says:
Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag features a vast open world with more than 50 navigable locations. Combat combines the weaponry of the Assassin’s Order with armaments of the era, and rewards both daring and stealth. And the series’ acclaimed multiplayer experience is more varied and ruthless than ever in Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag.
The game will be released on October 29 for the Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii U, with its release for the PC, PS4 and "other next generation consoles" planned but with no firm release date yet. The PS3 and PS4 versions will receive 60 minutes of additional gameplay.
